heart spasms

by eidus, May 26, 2008 10:50PM
i have been having sharp pains in the middle of my chest. the first time i had them i thought i was having a heart attack and went to the emergency room. they said it was heart spasms.  now a few years later i'm still having them. i usually have them for a couple of days then i may not have them for a few months. they only last a second and are always in the same place, does anyone know anything about heart spasms?

Have your potassium level checked right away.  My grandfather used to develop heart spasms when his potassium was very low.  I develop AFib when mine is low.  He was an alcoholic, however, and it really depleted his potassium reserve.  Hope you get some relief very soon! Amy
