Hopefully you will make an appt with an Electrophysiologist to get evaluated by someone who specialized in arrhythmias. Having an irregular heartbeat can be very stressful. The elevated BP has to be monitored.
Magnesium helps my PVC's.
if a person has a AV node ablation and the pacemaker malfunctions does that mean sudden death?
Hello thank you for your question.
Unfortunately an ECG will only record your heart's electrical "rhythm" for 6 seconds. If your symptoms happen every day ask your doctor for a 24 hour Holter monitor. This is an ECG monitor that records for 24 hours. You can keep a symptom log or ask for an "event" monitor so it records the rhythm when you are having symptoms.
If your symptoms are less frequent that every 24 hours, you can ask for a longer monitor. I have ordered up to 30 days of monitoring on my patients in the past.
Also, an echocardiogram, which is an ultrasound picture of your heart is important to rule out "structural heart disease". In particular, it is important to know if your heart has the right amount of "squeeze", better known as an ejection fraction.
Thank you,
Dr. S
I know this is very uncomfortable, have had it for years but I have had such a great doctor. He tells me that it's nothing to worry about, it's very common in people but I use a small doze of medicine for it. He also says it's not more common for people to go to heart-stop that have this arrhythmia that I have but he says it's different how much it bothers people, sometimes he measures very frequent misbeats but the people don't notice it. So the normal is quite wide in this area.
I would ask the doctor to examine more, get a 24 hrs Holter to measure you well and also to get him to measure your heart well in ultrasound. If the heart was enlarged it would however show up in the xray they did most likely.
Also 6 foot and 175 lbs. Also abnormally high blood pressure lately.
