left atrial enlargement 5.0cm on echocardiogram

My wife's echocardiogram showed 5.0cm left atrial enlargement. No other abnormalities with the following: she has tachycardia, trivial; mitral and tricuspid regurgitation, and her pulse goes one/two stop, one/two stop which shows on an EKG. She is on Tenormin, Cozaar and Lotrel. Should this affect her breathing and how concerned should she be with the atrial enlargement?
