muscle cramps and arrhythmia

Can  muscle cramps and arrhythmia be related?

My guess (I am not a doctor) would be if it is related, it would be due to potassium, magnesium, calcium, vit.d. There is a fine balance of how it works. For example taking vit. D can deplete your magnesium and cause your calcium  issues. Its all a balance. If you are losing salt that could be an issue if you are not replacing it.

I have extreme muscle cramps in legs and feet on most nights and I also have arrhythmias.  However, I take mag, potassium, calcium and everything else I can think of.  Also, my BMP is always normal.  Go figure.

Oh, sorry..basic metabolic profile.  It's the blood test that they do to check your electrolytes which can cause the leg cramps.

Thanks.  Always good to learn new things.  Next time I go to the Doc's I'll ask him about it.  By taking the supplements, can't a person screw up any balance?  Or does the body eliminate what it doesn't need?
