well im odd man out !  figures - I found out im highly allergic to all blood pressure medications -  due to reactions I get and problems im having now.  soooo since my pressure has been down near normal, for the past month and pulse is at 71 to 80 high ..
I will attempt to go totaly Natural -  as  every single time I take -(any) b.p medication ccb
or beta blocker / I have a onslott of palpations .. without takeing meds iv got None !!
and again b.p readings are near normal off meds ?  sooo its time to back away from these Nasty bad drugs - and try something that wont harm or do damage.   on a good note wont have to bother with these dumb bell doctors!  that could care less about me or
what is going on - pushing drugs at me like candy!  refuseing to do any allergic tests  or
taking time to find a reason why I have this problem ?    clearly its non careing and more less malpractice !    yep iv been to 12 doctors over the past 6years  none helped me !
its time to find another way and road to follow  free of problems !

Morning - allergies are not to be ignored. It took them quite awhile to figure this out, eh? I don't know about natural methods for reducing blood pressure. I know some people have their recommendations but if we're talking about more pills, even if they are herbal, some of those have risks as well. They interact with certain things and even have side effects. What fun.

Have you looked at the "complementary medicine" forum yet? I'm not saying they'll have all the answers but they probably know a bit about "natural" alternatives. If it's in pill form, I'm not so wiling to take it. Even vitamins can be dangerous if taken incorrectly. If I can eat it, then I'll try it. Prunes, grape juice, broccoli. Sure, bring it on. :-)

Hi Ireno -
oh so meny Risk factors in life ! you go to eat out somewhere, your sick!
you take a simple o.c pill -Your in the E.R.  ?  too too meny factors !!!
im doing a 1day test here today monday- taking natural medication 1pill
only and fish oil and also took a simple low dose dieuretic pill to see if
perhapps the b.p would drop down lower. and no effect on the palps.. so far im fine !!
Im 100% sure im totaly allergic to the b.p meds iv taken so far. all of them as within 30 to 60 mins after intake -I get palps and rash or itching
everywhere. I think iv built a allergicness aginst the drugs iv taken and been on before!
I plan on seeing a allergy doctor soon and will try and get the meds tested again .. but for the most part , its the doctors unwillingness to test subjects first for allergic reactions or if they can tollerate the meds.
they never ask us enough questions ,what we feel and how we feel ?
what we think ?  maybe they could learn something by listening to us ..
as we know what we feel . they dont !   but most are pill pushers always
changing drugs ,and masking over side effects with other drugs, that end up causing more problems !  so its a no win deal ..for us ! not them.

iv said this before and will say it again .. what happend to the real doctors!  the ones that took a oath , and learned the hard long way . and
had compassion for people ,and cared for every person they worked on .
were on a fast paced assembly line - at the doctors today  in you come and out you go with a bag of sample pills  . that most are untested by the fda.  or made in china with somekind of  filler you cant take .. ?
there is no care anymore !

You have a point about the medications: they prescribe them to us and then warn us if we have such and such side effects, call them. So the first pill is always the scariest since we don't know if we're sensitive or allergic till it's in our system.

Seeing an allergy doc sounds like a good plan. I wonder how they decide which things to test for since there are an infinite number of things in the world we could react to. Have fun with that.

Be very very careful with alternative medicines. I've had terrible reactions to some supliments like magnesium etc. I'd advise that you take proven brands and do not go past 200% of daily value. For example, if you take vitamin B supliment, you will get 12000% of daily value and will have some bad palpitations. With 200%, you should be fine. Teas and herbal treatments have proven to be unreliable. I'd be warry of anything that hasn't been tested and approved by the FDA. I know it's a beurocracy and that big pharma has a conflict of interest but they do have the best testing program around.
