paining sharp pain inside chest lasting few seconds everyday
i'm a 20 year old girl. i've been having sharp chest pains since school days.
the pain is sharp and pricking from the inner side of my chest. and it lasts for
a few seconds. i experience this pain about 4-5 times a day. i'm working,
when i was a child my parents noticed an extra sound in my heart. all tests like
ecg, echo etc were taken. and the doctors told that it was nothing to worry
about and that it's comparable to an extra 6th finger in the hand and it would
disappear as i grow.
i had one more heart check up when i was 10 years old and they said everything
but i've always been having this sharp pain in chest since shool days.
[my heart beat is always a bit fast around 85 per minute.]
is this pain due to some heart problem?
is it due to some other problem in some other organ?
is is a pain indicating some serious problem?
what is the solution?
please help me.
While you didn't say, I assume you have discussed the pain with a doctor in other than a heart problem context. That is, I think you should discuss it with a (we'd call primary care, not a heart specialist) general family doctor.
There could be many problems, and think about what you were doing even hours before the pain, it could be something you eat or drink regularly, for an example. But think in general, not just about diet. These are questions I think your doctor would ask and the more accurate your answers the better.
Good luck, and a age 20 there may still be time to "grow out of it", but I'd think you are full grown (except for the unwanted weight most of us gain as we grow older).
