Question? There will be some arrhythmias for a few months after an ablation because the heart is healing. If it's been quite awhile since the ablation, then there may still be a spot that needs to be ablated again.
Hi i just read your post....its pretty common after an ablation for atrial fib to have this happen. It does not mean its a fail. It takes anywhere from the day after the procedure up to 6 months for all of the random episodes to stop. You may experience like alot of us quick short bursts...or situations where you feel its going to start and suddenly fades out...bear in mind that your heart was used to firing off in the wrong electrical pattern with the atrial fib and now its trying to train itself to go in the right way and on top of that your heart was poked, prodded, penetrated and zapped and its still swollen from the procedure so its no doubt still a little irritable if you have have the ablation done recently. The docs don't even know from what my doc told me that it takes for them until you reach the 90 days mark to even know if it is a fail or not. For myself i headed back to my doc after having a couple of prolonged episodes and he put me on a very low dose beta blocker to keep them at bay and it definately worked as i understand many members have done also. Don't panic....it doesn't mean this is a fail....you have to give it time and as each day rolls on the incidents become less and less until the day comes and you no longer feel your heart which is a good thing trust me. I had a super severe case and it took me until the four month mark for everything to recede alot of members it happens much quicker with. I would simply call the doc (someone is on call today i am sure) and tell them exactly what you are feeling so that they can make the decision if its a wait and see situ or if they need to help you out a little with something like antenolol to keep them at bay until you are fully healed. Congrats on the procedure...don't be scared...we have all been there done that and time is what is the healing factor with our hearts.
