pulse rate

pulse rate

Nightly, I wake a few hours after going to sleep with 92-98 pulse rate even though I do high impact aerobics regularly.   Pulse rate is very irratic. With medication, my BP is about 126/72. Is this a problem?

Sounds a bit high, what BP medication are you taking.  Many take a beta blocker, which should also lower your HR.  Maybe you need a higher dose.

What is you resting heart rate during normal awake hours?

I understand it is normal for a persons HR to go higher with aging... over 65 say.  But I'd consider 80 to be normal high, anything near 100 or higher is too high I believe. I do not think it in and of itself dangerous.  An irregular beat could indicate underlying atrial fibrillation which would indicate the need for a anticoagulant, I believe.  If you are not taking an aspirin a day and think you can take it (not irritate your stomach) I'd think it a good idea to start a aspirin regiment and discuss all of this with a cardiologist.
