I am 38 years old and about 2 years ago I went to the ER for palpatations and a very fast heart rate..i wasgiven lopressor and ativan and senthome...I then followed up with a cardiologist..I have had two echocardiograms inthe past year and they were normal..I also had a stress test that was normal and had to wear an event monitor over two weeks which found I have frequent pvc's...I was put on Nadolol 40mg twice a day which has not seemed to help much...I am also on xanax for anxiety which I do not take every day but when I feel the pvc's i take them but they dont seem to make the pvc's go away they just calm me down...I have two children and I get very scared when I get them...it feels like pressure in my chest and like I am being punched from the inside in the middle of my chest, my throat and the middle of my back both my internist and my cardiologist say it is benign and i just need to work through them..i started keeping a log and i noticed i get them more around ovulation and the week of my period...i have an apt. with my gynocologist soon andI am concidering going on the pill to seeif that helps...it seemslike the pvc's have gotten worse lately and seem to last longer..it really is concerning..I do not get short of breath or faint or feel dizzy...but being that it happens  in the middle of my chest i get scared...i dont want to get my family crazy, but i feel like i am losing it...anyone tried the pill and had it work?  HELP

You are definitely having classic PVC symptoms, I have them also, and mine, too, get worse when ovulating or a week before my menses. I would not recommend the "Pill" too many side effects, however, I highly recommend bio-identical progesterone cream, this is progesterone that is the same your body makes and is completely safe. I use it and it helps the PVC's. You can get it at a health food store. A brand I like is called "Fem-Gest", but, there are others too that are great. Make sure it is USP Progesterone and not wild yam cream, this can not be converted into progesterone, only the labs can do that.

I had all the tests too, and they were "normal" but, they sure do scare me. Try the cream, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Like SassyLassie, I also found that bio-identical progesterone USP cream was helpful for me.  It helped me to feel more relaxed, slept well and PVCs seemed less severe.

Many years ago, when I was on BC pills (treat endometriosis per doctors instruction) my heart rate and blood pressure went through the roof, so to speak.  I had to discontinue the pill for that very reason.

Remember that regarding any medication / natural supplementation, everyone can react differently though.  But that was my personal experience.

Blessings and Pleasant thoughts to you.  I hope you feel better soon.
