Hi. I am wearing a king of hearts. It is tiny and says it on it. Whenever I feel something, I push a button, then it records for 1 min. I then call a number they gave me and play the recording over the phone. Usually I do it when I am sitting, and it sounds like a normal beat inspite of the squealy stuff, but it will do a funny sound when my heart is skipping beats--like pvcs (which I kjnow techn. is extra beats) anyway, but this time I did while walking and when I played it for them it was a lot more odd squeals and I could not hear my heart beat as much.
Are you talking about the screeching sounds when you put it to the phone for downloading?
It's my understanding they contact the doctor who can read it quickly if there is a problem. Don't worry, just keep doing what you are suppose to be doing. I had an event monitor like yours. I've had many different event monitors. With all the skips and sounds I have always been told it is not the dangerous type and I get medicine so as not to feel it. Be glad it is being caught by the monitor. I just got through with a month long Corventis monitor (new) and I had no PVCs for that month!!!!!
Now I'm having big problems again and waiting for the King of Hearts 24 hour monitor.
What is the name of your monitor?
Unfortunately with a King of Hearts monitor, if you have it for a month, you have to go to the doctor every week to have it down loaded for reading. There is a red button on it to push.
With the Corventis, they mail it to you and you wear a little pack on your chest for a week and when it tells you, you replace the pack for another week and so on. You can shower with it on. No wires hanging all over the place either. My cardio doesn't like it. She says the company is having trouble with it. Many insurances won't cover it yet. Medicare does.
The only thing the techs said was if they see something they need to phone a dr. about, they will tell us or if they see something we need to get to the hospital for. So I am assuming it is not serious?Do you know what the different sounds may mean?
I would call the dr that the ecg is being called into and ask what was going on at that time. They are usually sent to the dr within 24 hours and if its something serious they call it into the dr. right away. The technicians cannot tell you what they see. Good Luck!
