My 10 year old daughter's 24 hr. holter monitor report reads" several episodes of sinus pause ... less than 2.5 seconds in duration ... very rare episodes of supraventricular ectopy." Then it says "the study was felt to be within normal limits".
It means exactly that: it's normal. The ectopy is simply an extra beat of the heart that starts in a different place other than in the SA Node located in the upper chamber of the heart. This is perfectly normal and everyone has them occasionally.
