Interestingly they did a lab study with MSG and lab rats, and one hundred percent of the test animals developed brain damage.

I have found I have a faster heart rate after eating Chinese food.  Some Asian restaurants advertise "No msg used" but I am less trusting than I used to be after several bouts of afib.  I am taking no chances!

Monosodium Glutamate, used in Chinese restaurants, has been linked to arythmias. Studies verifying this are available (International Journal of Cardiology November 2009) on the national data base "PubMed".

Supposedly Chinese food is laden with MSG and I've heard that MSG causes skipped beats in many people.  Perhaps that is the connection.
