I recently had gall bladder surgery Jan 21st 08 and since then i have had a lot of problems with feeling my heart skip beats I had a ekg before surgery they said every thing fine. Is this something I should be worried about? I have quit caffene colas for a month now. i do now smoke or drink and no chocolate. Please any advice. thank you

Caffeine and chocalate affects some people and not others. If you don't notice a difference, I wouldn't necessarily abstain just because of palpitations.

It is unlikely to be a concern but anytime you have new heart related symptoms, it is worth talking to your doctor. Usually something as simple as 24 hour monitor will help answer the question.  The most common causes are premature atrial or ventricular beats.

I hope this helps.

I think the question was did the gall bladder surgery have an affect or possibly result in the palpitations

In general, we do not know what causes PVCs and why they are worse sometimes and not other times.

right after my gallbladder surgery i experienced the sensation of "skipped" beats and called my surgeon asap and he told me probably due to stress, medications and to drink alot of fluids.
