i am a 59 year old female.
every time i eat, my heart goes crazy skipping beats. i am on atenolol-75 mgs per day. should i go to the doctor? i am not in any kind of pain. it lasts about 3 hours. and sometimes when i get up from a sitting position, everything gets black. would this be connected to my heart or is this another matter entirely? there is no sense going to the doctor if i don't have to.
thank you so much,
It is hard to say exactly what is going on. Probably best to see what is causing the skipped beats with a heart monitor. Not all heart disease is associated with chest pain. A good history and physical, EKG and possible a heart monitor and echocardiogram may be necessary to figure out what is going on.
