What things do you have to watch that you can't eat?
thanks,

He said that sugar aggravates it too. I don't have a blood sugar problem. My brother has the same things and he was eating lots of ice cream every day and he said that he noticed he had more "skips" when ate sweets too.

You doctor told you to cut out caffeine and sugar. Why sugar?
Hi I just wanted to update you on my halter monitor results and stuff. My doctor said I had 104 PAC's in a 24 hour period. He said they are benign and that he wants an echocardiogram to rule out mitral value prolapse. So I'm getting that done on Wednesday. I hope it is negative or like yours minor if I have it. It is scary. He did mention on rare occasions you can get VT's. He was thinking about beta blockers but said to try cutting out caffiene and suger. I quit Tea and I don't eat sweets except for a little honey in the herbal tea. I still feel worried about it though. I also still have the toe infection after 2 antibiotics. I'm seeing the podiatrist next week. He gave me a 3rd antibiotic just in case it gets really bad before I see the podiatrist. I'm pretty nervous about getting the nail taken off. I hope it doesn't set me back from walking too long as I'm maing progress on the hills and am getting out a little more which is good for the back pain. Oh well, as he said it can be worse.

Yes it has been stressful. Thanks again for listening. If you take the fibroplex or B6 don't take more than 100mg/day as at high levels it can cause peripheral neuropathy per the Linnus Pauling Institute. It has helped me some with the muscle pain.

Wow!!! I am so sorry that you're struggling with so many things and you can get on here and talk any time you want. Thanks for the inforonthe fibroplex. I've never heard of it and it is my tightening muscles that seem to give me fits. Hope you get some answers from the 24 hour monitor.
Hi Merileegal,
Glad you are doing well despite all the PAC's and SVT's etc. I hope that whatever is going on isn't too bad. I sent in the monitor today. I am supposed to get the echo stress test and echo regular test but because of the back problem I can't lay on my left side. Then the stress test I am not walking very fast so I may have to get injected to do that one. The back issue has been a big problem. It isn't spinal and started out small (where could still do all my activities) but painful of course. I went to a PT and he injured me so that I had to sit for a month. He thought I had SI joint and adjusted the wrong side and I don't know what he did but I had to go on pain meds for a month. I went to another PT and he also thought SI joint but I was much weaker by then and he kept pulling muscles by pushing me too fast and then brusied my ribs. Then, at home I for some reason was doing some excersises and my knees were bent and the left knee accidently felt out to the left . I couldn't lift my foot for a month. It has been a year since the last big injury and now I am finally walking 4 hills (slowly) and driving and trying to get out to a resturant or two. I had one cortisone shot which helped and will do another if I need to . I still can't dress myself or bend because I can't cross my left leg to reach for putting on shoes or socks. Now I have a toe infection that I can't seem to get the right antibiotic and also had severe vertigo this weekend. I guess I'm falling apart. I got freaked out because they want to remove my toenail surgically. I don't want to stop walking as I'm doing better finally. Sorry to give you all my problems. I guess I need someone to talk to. Hard to know what to do to get this back pain to go away. I have done accupunture, biofeedback and so forth and take magnesium chloride (Slomag) but if I don't want all the calcium maybe the magnesium calm will be better. Also, I'm on Fibroplex, which is B1, B6 (100mg) plus Malate. That helps with the pain as well as Corvalin (d-ribose) which helps with muscle fatigue and twiching etc .when you are trying to recover. You might try the fibroplex but it is mostly for musclar pain. Now they think I have myofascial pain instead of SI. I dont' know but the PT's didn't work out. Well, thanks for information and the ear.

I don't have to take anything. I hate taking meds. I do take magnesium. The brand I like is Magnesium Calm which is magnesium citrate and very absorbable. My ep says that most people have some kind of arrythmias and they are harmless. Most people don't even know they have them. I can feel mine flip flop around and it used to scare me if it happened a lot. I've had arrythmias since my early 20's and the SVT started in my 30's. My ablation was very succussful and it is so nice to not have to worry about going into a tachycardia. The ablation was easier than going to the dentist...a lot less painful. So glad I had it done. It just takes time for the heart to completely heal so my energy level is not quite back to where it was but I'm getting stronger all of the time.
I also have back problems. I've had cortisone shots twice for herniated discs and narrowing of the spine. I hate it. I think the magnesium has helped that too because it is a natural muscle relaxer. I don't know about you but it is when my muscles in my back are tight that I have the most pain. My heart and my back both do better if I can walk on the treadmill every day. Hope this helps and good luck.
Hi and thanks for your comments. It helps alot that even if I may have a mitral value problem or a bunch of PVC's or PACs' that it could be benign. Do you they treat you with anything? We are taking the monitor back tomorrow (Monday) and I should hear within a couple of days what the results are. I feel like when I take my pulse that I might skip more than one beat at once. This is scary. I know they are not skips but either premature or after beats depending the type. Was the ablation difficult for you afterwards (painful or other problems)? I hope you are doing well. Can you still exercise the same? I have a back problem but I want to get back to hiking or doing stairs so I can travel again.
thanks,

I have very mild mitral valve prolapse. It is actually quite common as you get older and is not usually problematic. My cardio said it is nothing to worry about.
If all the reports come back normal and you still feel the skipping around, know that you're not alone. Many of us here have this in common and some worse than others. It is frustrating to some that everything appears to be normal, but doesn't feel that way. It's just a crazy electrical problem. I have to watch what I eat, drink, what I don't eat, and when I become really tired or stressed my heart misbehaves. I've lived with it for so long that when I notice it happening I acknowledge it and remind myself that my heart is sound but the electrical part isn't. The heart is very resilient and there are many pacemakers in the heart that act up as back ups incase of a problem. I had an ablation for SVT 3 months ago where my heart would race up to 250 bpm. That was really scary so maybe for me that's why I can handle this other better. Let us know about he 24 hr. monitor.
