slow heart pumping

My father is 69 years old and under gone bypass surgery on 14th April 2012 but after that his heart pumping is less than 25 and is in ICU. Pl suggest and is a pacemaker be installed.

Sorry to read of the difficulties, and send my best wishes for a full recovery.

Clearly your best advice is from the doctor(s) treating, including the ICU team.

When you say 25, is that beats per minute? If that is I understand why he is still in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit?).

From what I have read, a HR as low as 25 must be corrected and the only one I know of is a pacemaker.
