supraventricular couplets

Are pacs in couplets more dangerous?  I don't know what I'm having.  I feel two quick beats but no pause.  Just beat- beat -beat -beatbeat- beat- beat-beat-beatbeat-beat.  I'm wondering if these are pacs or pac couplets.   I'm not feeling it all the time, but this last hour I have sure felt more than 5 if that is what they are.  Or, is that what a single pac feels like.  I know the pvc's.  Double beat-pause-beat, etc.

My last holter showed 39 pacs with 5 couplets.
(along with 282 pvcs) and no couplets, triplets or bigeminy runs.
It also stated this and I was wondering if someone could interpret it.
SVT Tach Runs - 2
Longest - 6 beats
Max Rage - 164
Max SVE/Min - 14
Max SVE/Hour - 28
Mean SVE/Hour - 1.7

total % of beats 0.04

Ventricular Events

% Beats - 0.27
AIVR/IVR RUns - 0
V Tach Runs - 0
Max FE/Minute - 8
Max VE/Hour - 76
Mean VE/Hour - 12.3

Thanks for your reply.  It helped.  I was just feeling a lot of double beats (very light beats) clustered together yesterday and of course it scared me.   Not the usual feeling I am used to with the pvc's.  (no longer pause)

I always think, if I'm getting an increase then it could be a bad thing.

Have a great day and I'm glad you are here to help!

With PACs, opposite to PVCs, you often feel the actual PAC, not just the next hard beat. The hallmark sign of a PAC is the "beatbeat-- beat"-sensation. Just like a double beat.

You can also feel three beats in a row without it necessarily being a couplet. PACs can squeeze between two normal beats without causing any pause or "bump" in the chest. The way to tell the difference is:

"Squeezed" PAC: beat--beat--beatbeatbeat--beat--beat
PAC couplet: beat--beat--beatbeatbeat----beat--beat
(with a pause afterwards)

That said, PAC couplets are common and benign. Even short SVT's are common and benign (I asked my doctor a week ago, by the way, because I have them too).

Your Holter result looks just fine!
