svt and having a baby

im 32 yrs old and all ready have 3 children all boys,i would like to try for a girl.My doctor has diagnois me with SVT after having an ECG,my heart rate was 135 beats per min.The doctor told me to take beta blockers to control the condition.So my concerns are is it life threatening for me to become pregnant,many thanks angie

Hello...

SVT is not a life threatening arrhythmia. Unless there are other reasons, SVT isn't anything that would threaten your life or the life of your unborn baby, if you were to become pregnant.

The only thing you need  to consider and discuss with your Dr, would be what medications are safe to take while you are pregnant, as there are drugs that will cross the placenta and pose risk to a developing fetus.
