taking Metoprolol er 50mg twice a day & diltiazem 12 mg once a day

I take Metoprolol for a thick heart muscel & pvc, which it doesn't help much with the pvc's, Diltiazem was just added 120mg once a day. My doctor seemed somewhat reluctant to add the Diltiazem but said lets try it. My Blood pressure has been around 155/95. His reluctance just seems to scare me. Should I try it or should I not? If I do start taking it should I take it with the metoprolol or at different times?

I can see why he is reluctant. You would then be taking 220mg of a Beta-Blocker every day. The side effects are not easy to take sometimes, at least in my opinion. I gave up taking it because of those. However, I have been put on Metoprolol ER - 50mg - again four weeks ago and they just don't seem to work. I found out through experimentation years ago that none of the generics worked - it used to be Toprol XL - except when I found them actually made by the original manufacturer and sold as Metoprolol.
