I've been searching for years and have a few more comments,,,If I drink Gatorade No Excuses, I am fine, if I drink Gatorade G I have terrible skipped beats. I know you may think I'm a sicko but it is true, evertime.....Also I went to a acuptunturist and she told me Vitiamin E, especially the non organic E cuts down the oxygen in your blood stream and will make your heart skip beats. There are two types of Vitamin E, syntheic and organic..
Fish oil aggravated my PVCs. I think fish oil and vitamin E might be related as omega fatty acids?
I don't know why omega fatty acids have this effect on some people with benign PVCs. I've checked around the web a lot but haven't found much pertinent info. I did find one study that suggested omega fatty acids are pro-arrhythmic but this study wasn't on the the general population. It was on folks with ICDs, so the study population was already prone to harmful arrhythmia. they were unable to conclude what the mechanism is.
Vitamin E isn't as beneficial as once thought. I see studies that show positive results and studies that show no benefit or even harmful benefit. If I were you I'd look at the goals of why you take vitamin E and try to find another way to achieve that goal so you can stop taking it.
Just co-sympathizing, I too seem to get affected by supplements. I get extra activity while I'm on E, fish oil, calcium/mag, even a regular daily vitamin causes me more activity. I do not know if this is coincidental, but I stopped all supplementation about a month ago, and I have had less arrhythmia. Perhaps the health benefit of these supplements cause the 'excitable' cells in the heart to be healthier than they ought to be :)
