I assume you have asked the same questions of your doctor(s), whatever they told you is more than you can expect to get here, I think.
Still, I think a flu would not cause you any heart damage, nor would antibiotics. That's how I see it.
There are illnesses known to cause heart and valve problems, like rheumatic fever, comes to mind. You didn't mention any valve problems, but to my knowledge flu is not one of them.
