HEART RHYTHM EXPERT FORUM
what do I have?

what do I have?

Had a *****, went to my doctor one week later and doc said its unlikely I catched anything major but may have been allergic or caught random virus - he didn't recommend any testing. With that put aside couple days after I believe I have a heartproblem. My blood pressure reads 131/90.

Here are the symptoms:

30min later I was itchy
8 hours later I started feeling akward tingling on arms
1 day later got a minor fever
4th day felt super tired/sleepy and had lymph node under armpits grow
7thd day felt better - but started getting slight chest/stomach pains once in a while
8th - 16th day (present day) - only symptoms I've had continuously is enlarged armpit lymph node - heavy heartbeat (as if I'm on adrelanine all the time) - arms get tired - breathing is off i think due to the akward heartbeat.

Those are the only symptoms i've had - i drink/eat well - but I'm concerned about my akward heartbeat (I can tell something is off because I use to weightlift) and breathing is deeper. Also the enlarged lymph nodes with tired arms for past 8 days concerns me.

Do I have a heartproblem/lung problem with some kind of virus? I assume the enlarged lymph nodes are trying to heal it.

I sincerely doubt you have a virus affecting your heart and lungs from this episode.  If the arm pit lymph node persists, you should talk to your doctor about that, but my guess is it will subside.  I think you are right that hard beats from adrenaline.  You are probably nervous about what you did and the lymph node, this will generate anxiety and anxiety increases adrenaline.

Anxiety can cause a lot of symptoms and they often sound just like you are describing.

I hope this answers your questions.  Thanks for posting.

I was also uncomfortable with the post but realized that patients do discuss these things with their doctors. But I didn't expect to see an "R" rated message on a public forum. Then again, maybe I'm just an old fogie that has old-fashioned values. Most folks probably wouldn't even consider this "R" rated.

While I can understand why some might have been appalled by the question as I myself found it off base for such a forum , I truly think the poster was sincere and not trying to be vulgar in anyway. I think he was truly nervous that he might have caught something terrible and wanted reassurance. Dr.MJM handled the question as usual very professional and with class. I would just leave at that, maybe it taught the young man a lesson not to look for kicks in the wrong places and with the wrong persons.
