HEART RHYTHM EXPERT FORUM
worsening condition?

worsening condition?

Thank you for taking my question.  I have been told my heart throws about 8 pvc's to the common 2 or 3 a minute.   With that in mind, through the years my heart has begun to race whether I'm calm or active.  Afterwards and sometimes during there is hard breathing, weak and feeling faint. When racing slows I  feel a warm gush to my temples and sometimes severe pain. These times vary in intensity. I can go through months with no symptoms and couple weeks with it off and on.       Does this sound like blockage or the heart needing to stay in rhythm.

These symptoms usually have nothing to do with coronary disease.  You need to sit down with your doctor to assess your symptoms and risks to decide if further testing is necessary.  PVCs tend to wax and wane in frequency as you have described.

I had a pacemaker implanted in June of 2001 for a disease called Sick Sinus Syndrome. The pacemaker took care of all the issues I was going through at first, but over the past few years the symptoms are returning. The PVC's are becoming extreme. My pacemaker logged that I had over 2300 runs of PVC's last month alone. I have began passing out again, and I feel exhausted. I am 31 years old, and I am really getting concerned. My father died at age 32 from a massive heart attack, and my mother has the same condition I have been diagnosed with. Do you have any suggestions on how to "fix" my PVC's? I have been talking with my doctor, but he is unsure of what the next step will be. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.
