i am past the wpws problem. i think that 4 drs would know more then anyone else. LOL!!! and the fact the nurse didn't even put the ecg on my legs and arms also played a part in this. All of them say it is either a slip on the ecg since it is only apparent in the begining or it is panic attack related. 3 did say that adreniline while having panic attacks causes your heart to race and sometimes skip beats which can explain the blip in the ecg as I call it because there is NO delta wave present. i could even see that.
NOW, about these dang panic attacks... I have been trying to be more active and get it under control but i seem to be set off easily. I find that I may as well go get medication to help calm and fight this dang thing! cause I AM OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!
=)
If you have had 4 doctors tell you it wasn't WPW, then you don't have WPW; That is something that is EASILY seen on an EKG. The fact that you have also never had any kinds of heart problems, that would also lead one to believe there is no WPW. About the only thing stress will do on an EKG is change the baseline from flat to wavy due to increases in breathing and cause the heart to beat faster (tachycardia). I have never seen a 'blocked valve' show up on an EKG, echo, (which looks at the structure of the heart, not the electrical system) yes, EKG.no. As I said before: try and get your stresses under control. That may be difficult at this time after losing a baby, but try. Having said that, I send my sympathies to you over that loss! take care
I havent seen the delta wave and I was told by 3 dr's that stress does cause abnormal readings and or it could very well be normal variant which could explain why the er dr circled it and added ? because he wasnt sure if it was from panic or a heart problem. which I have never had any problems in the past, i have been having TONSS of anxiety lately after my miscarriage in october.
only one dr said it was wpws, one said blocked valve but since tech 4 dr's said it wasnt wpws i am going to try not to think that is what it is.
In order to be diagnosed with WPW, you would have to have the Delta Wave along with the short PR Interval in all of the complexes. You would also have a problem with SVT not just tachycardia. The rates would be 160+bpm. Those rates would start and stop on a dime, literally, as the impulse would be 'jumping' from one electrical tract to another and back again. Those types of heart rates do not speed up and slow down over time which is the 'normal' type of tachycardias. Artifact can really screw up what you are looking at on the EKG unless you REALLY know what you are looking at. If you had a heart problem, it would show up throughout most or all of the EKG, not just in one picture and Artifact usually is the result of movement of the body which has a chaotic look to the baseline or has a chaotic even look to the baseline; any good tech can figure out what the cause of the artifact is and knows how to correct the problem. Try and get your panic attcks under control; you are releasing catecholamines into your system during attacks and that will really do a number on your heart rates and blood pressures!.
this is what it looks like!!

Ok, maybe I will try to post it again.
but to be accurate about what it could be the ecg and everything has to be technical.
and why would the er dr assume wpws and not Lown-Ganong-Levine syndrome?
LGL ecg:

doesn't even match close to mine. Mine simply has one short pr
maybe it is panic assosiated or maybe medication they gave me?
I was very paniced when i went in, but i managed to calm down after they took my blood, they did give me Lorazepam.
and NO, tachycardia only happens when I am very paniced otherwise it is always normal and beating at a normal rate. even when i workout it is fast but no skipped beats or pain.
i donot see a delta wave on the ecg just a short pr
I have seen something, small jolts in the ecg like this:
http://i46.tinypic.com/atojys.jpg
it is not as spastic as the pic but I can see that some of my ecg has what looks to be like electrical interferance, especially on line two starting after the short pr, then it dies down and the ecg goes normal, there are many of these lines and they are darker then the rest of the ecg and not as rough as the one above but planly looks to be somesort of interferance. (in the room my tv was on) my short pr looks alot like this:
http://i45.tinypic.com/2qkj97o.jpg but nromal waves after.
that wave is of Artefact a disturbances in rhythm monitoring caused by movement of the electrodes? this is what i am assuming happened.
If it were a heart problem then why would there be only one detection in the whole ecg? doesn't make sense to me really.
it seems complicated, and I bet if you went to two different cardios, they might not agree anyway.
But, you do not have the typical wide QRS that's found in WPW. In fact, your QRSd is on the low end of normal. That argues against WPW.
So maybe it's Lown-Ganong-Levine syndrome, if delta waves are present.
But more likely, it's adrenalin - especially if there are no delta waves. However, your heart rate was only 68 when this EKG was taken. Are you on any medication? (Adrenalin can shorten the PR interval, and yours is short - but not necessarily from WPW.)
The key would seem to be if you have the delta waves or not. You'd need to post a photo taken straight headon at the circled part, lit from the side
Do you get runs of tachycardia that start out of nowhere, even when you're not anxious?
Sorry you haven't gotten some help here, the first step is to get the panic under control. Panic will cause may heart rhythm anomalies that will go away once the mind is at ease.
Basically I think your technical detail is overwhelming. Perhaps you'll get more helpful input if you post again with less technical detail and more what you feel... and what you know from past medical advice. There are many people who exchange experience on WPW on the Community. The best I can remember, and the good news is, that WPW is treatable and is often cured. But, again, anxiety relief is a first order goal, I believe.
Best wishes
