Cliche... but, does this look like hemorrhoids?

Hi. I'm male, 35, married/straight. For a few months I've had unusual pressure in the rectum. Early in proceedings I felt what I assumed was a hemorrhoid half in half out, it felt like the lead of a pencil about 1cm long. That went away but the pressure remained and got worse. This developed into referred pain in the buttocks (particularly right), lower back and right leg.

Unsure if directly related but I also suffered extreme coccyx pain for around a week, during which time orgasm caused an uncomfortable sensation in my rectum area, this seems to have subsided now. I have suffered constipation previously, so the thought occured that it may be a piece of stuck stool, but I suspect internal hem's. I have just taken some photo's after a long bath, and my anus appears (to me) to be very purple! (camera flash may have made it worse).

So I'm basically asking for opinions if this looks normal or something I need to be concerned about. For the record, I have refrained from going to the GP until absolutely sure I need to because I'm terrified of the glove!

Many thanks...

I know this post is older now, Just curious what it turned out to be? Could be a thrombosed hemorrhoid by the way you describe it or an perirectal abscess which can in turn, continue to grow until it hurts unbearably. In either case I highly recommend medical attention. You wouldn't believe what doctors see in their daily lives.. I just see how either would cause the other symptoms you have described such as leg sensations and such,

Having anal issues would not  affect your legs and toes. Neddle and pins is a symptom of a pinched nerve in your back area.

Thanks. There's been no blood whatsoever for the few months since it started, just a regular discomfort, constant pressure, and almost like pins and needles in right leg, sometimes to the knee, sometimes to the toe.

Hi, most often with hemorrhoids there is a balloning of tissue filled with blood that really hurts. After a few days it pops and blood comes out. The key symptom for hemorrhiods is pain and later blood. The color purple in itself is not a symptom of hemms.
