Hemorroid or skin tag or something else

Hi guys, I'd like some help quickly please.

I have a lump on my anus, first noticed about 2 weeks ago, pics below.  It's pretty much painless, but does itch at times, especially if I'm active.  It's soft and squidgy and I can squeeze it without any pain, but it appears to have a harder tubular area below it.  I've self diagnosed it as a hemorrhoid, or at least vascular.

But I rarely have any toilet troubles, and although I sit around a lot and stand around a lot, I'm a fidget so I tend to get up, or walk around on a regular basis.  The only thing I might have been doing that could lead to hemorroids is weighted squats

The thing is I was at the doctors this morning and it's been diagnosed as a skin tag, which I really don't think it is.  I'm supposed to be getting it frozen off this afternoon.  But really really don't want them to try and freeze it off if it's a hemorrhoid, I'm thinking that could do lot of damage.

Well frankly that isn't very helpful, I was asking for opinions based on the pictures from people who have seen this sort of thing before. I don't see what is wrong with self diagnosis, we know our bodies better than anyone else, no one is better to judge any changes that occur, and that along with reading relative literature gives us a much better chance of getting it right than 5 minutes with the Doctor.  And just blindly following what a medical person says because they have a certificate may well do far more harm than good.
And these forums seem to be full of self-medicating advice, what to eat, what not to eat etc etc, is that alright but self diagnosis isn't?  Seems strange.

And for the record I was right, the nurse refused to freeze anything off, and reckons I've probably managed to nick the vein somehow.  So it's not a skin tag, or a standard haemorrhoid but it is vascular and seems to be healing up fine on its own.

Hi and welcome, sorry about what your going through. Yourve been diagnosed by a doctor so please dont self diagnose yourself at this point. They study long years and are here to help us. If your concerned then get a second opinion.
