Internal hemorrhoid or something more serious?

Hey all,

I have a pea size lump inside the lining around my sphincter. I just noticed it about two weeks ago. It expands a little pit when I use the restroom (#2 obviously). There is no pain or blood associated with it, and unless I'm wiping I don't even feel it. I'm paranoid that this is anal cancer but I dont really seem to fit the bill since I'm a 25 y.o. straight male and have no history of any diseases. Should I go to a doctor or try some home treatment for a couple weeks first?

Without examining the lump, it is difficult to comment what it is. Here is a list of possibilities of what it could be. The lump could be a prolapsed hemorrhoid, a skin tag, a benign rectal tumor, a rectal polyp, a rectal abscess, genital wart or a hematoma. Apart from the abscess, the rest are usually painless unless infected. You will need a rectal examination. Please consult your doctor for confirmed diagnosis. Take care!
