Is blood in toilet three days in a row hemorrhoids, or worse?

A few things I feel compelled to mention first are that I'm 30, male, and am a heavy drinker. I already know from looking that I have external hemorrhoids, but I don't think they've ever bothered me. I would get blood in the toilet maybe once every two months, sometimes it would be just one movement, other times it would be 2 or rarely 3. But, for the last four days, the first two days I had blood in the toilet, then the third day nothing, then again today I found some. It's bright red as far as I can tell, it isn't mixed in with the stool and it's not a tiny bit but it's not a lot either. Suffice to say, I was alarmed and heavily reduced my drinking in hopes of it going away but since I saw some again just now I have to say something. Horribly terrified of doctors (especially their bills, I can barely keep the roof on me after being laid off) and pray it's something I can just kinda work out instead of going to one. So that's why I'm here, hope someone can help. Feel free to ask for any other information if I missed it. v_v

Hi yes what your experiencing are all most certainly from hemms. Short of surgery we have them for life. They heal then open then heal then open. Controlling them would need a change in your diet or take some stool softeners.

Hi Life360_Dave thank you for the response! This is going on day 5 of this nonsense, I got rid of all my booze and I'm not touching any more for a while. I didn't think hemms could be irritated for so long!

Anyway I was wondering, do you have any good reference material on what I should start including and changing my diet to? Would stool softener be worth it if I don't have any constipation or trouble with the bowel movements? Again, thank you for the response.
