I'm so confused. I've had external skin tags for awhile now, and a couple months ago I was told by a CRS I had a thrombosed hemorrhoid and he wanted to do a hemorrhoidectamy. At that time I had severe pain with bowel movements, and major swelling of the skin tags I had. I had no bleeding at that time though. A second CRS examined me a couple days later for a second opinion and told me no need to do surgery just yet. Now, a couple months later, I still have the skin tags a small cluster of them each is about the size of a bean just outside the anus there are about 3-4 clustered in one small clump. I have no pain with bowel movements now, but I've been having some bright red blood after bowel movements. A couple weeks ago, I had bright red blood right after the bowel movement on the tissue and a bit in the toilet water on top of the stool, not mixed in with it. But after I dab and wipe a couple times it stops. So what's going on here? I'm kind of freaking out.
The first CRS told me I needed a hemorrhoidectamy, that they wouldn't get better on their own. The second CRS told me he prefers a more cautious approach that surgery can cause more issues. So how do I square what both told me? This is really affecting my mental state and I am constantly scared of seeing blood when I go to the bathroom I'm sick of it.
Should I have the surgery? Where is the blood coming from? Why would I now have blood but no pain with bowel movements? I'm confused and scared to do any activities and depressed over this.
