Blood report: need clarification.

by fundoo23, Sep 05, 2001 12:00AM
Hello,

My brother-in-law went for a blood drive and they
tested him. He got the following report:

S BILIRUBIN [Total] 0.9 mg/dl (N < 1.0 mg/dl)
Direct     mg/dl
S G P T 26 IU/L (N < 35  IU/L)
S G O T 40 IU/L (N < 35  IU/L)

S ALKALINE PHOPHATASE 112 IU/L (N 40-140 U/L)

AUSTRALIA ANTIGEN POSITIVE

He was told that he is positive for Hepatitis.

What does this mean and what should he do now? Any
help is appriciated.

Thanks.
