by P.O.W, Oct 10, 2003 12:00AM
Hi there, I've already been exposed to Hepatitis A and I just wanna ask if it's possible that I could get it again, and if yes what should I do to prevent it. Thank you

Once you've had it you can't get it again.

Thank you very much for helpin' I appreciate that so much.

I'd like to ask another question. When can I return back to my workout after exposing to Hepatitis A, and thank you again

Depends on how long ago you had it, if you were recently exposed, then usually you feel sick like flu symptoms, yellowish eyes, etc; but some folks dont.  You need a blood test to show you have developed the antibodies to it to have proof you had it and its gone now.  The workout/gym kinda thing, you should go back when you are feeling strong enough, if you are currently ill with it, you probly dont feel much like working out, and you should rest.  Hep A is very contagious, can be aquired through food, etc, so I wouldnt go out to the gym till you are feeling real good.  Hope that helps you, I am not a Hep A expert.  Go to this site for better info: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/hepatitis/

Thanks oldhippiechick67 for helpin', I'm now in the rest time I've been resting for 2 weeks now and the SYMPTOMS showed 3 weeks ago. How long should I wait to be able to workout, although I feel good now ?

Well, you could/should check with your doc to see what his/her opinion is.  But if you are feeling better then start out slowly, do a little each day and see how your body reacts.  The liver has been attacked and became inflammed, so be kind to it and dont overdo your exercise program.  It will take several weeks to get back to normal.  G'luck!  OHC
