Hi there,
High levels of AST and ALT are found when the liver cells are damaged or destroyed. When bile flow is slow or blocked there may be a rise in certain liver enzymes like alkaline phosphatase and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase. A thick-walled gallbladder is a hallmark feature of acute cholecystitis but can also be seen in wide range of gallbladder diseases and extracholecystic pathological conditions. Acute cholecystitis is caused by gallstones  in the gallbladder. Other causes are severe illness and tumors of the gallbladder. A complete medical history, clinical examination and correlation with the investigations are essential for determining the exact cause of your symptoms. It is best to consult a hepatologist and consult whether getting tests for hepatitis E is essential. Early diagnosis and treatment will be helpful.
Best wishes and kind regards!
