It looks like your husband has elevated lever enzymes which is caused due to Obesity, Alcohol abusing etc. You have not provided us any information on the SGOT, AST levels. As far SGPT is 187, this is a stage where he can control and reduce the enzyme levels with less intake of food - especially junks and carbo hydrates. Include, fresh fruits, vegetables and non fat foods in his daily diet. Avoid dairy products, fried foods, meat, egg, spinach, spices, salt and fatty foods. Try to be on a diet which consists of : Break fast: oats or cereals with less calories (dont consume too much calories as lever will have to do extra work to burn the calories), some fruits and a glass of fresh juice (preferrably pineapple or water melon), lunch a cup of rice with steamed vegetables and any veg side dish or a fish fillet (rich in amino acids), evening tea with some biscuits (avoid salt, cream and too sweet biscuits) and night preferably with a fillet of grilled or steamed fished and vegetables and a glass of butter milk (low fat). He can reduce his body mass, weight, cholestrol and lever enzymes - SGOT, SGPT, AST, Triglyceride levels in less than a months time. He will have to completely avoid alcoholic drinks, drugs for few months because it can cause cirrhosis or hep B. Prevention is better than cure.
