Sweetie - one of the things that was the worst for me on TX was insomnia.

I still have it to a small degree... but I go through phases... 2 nights 2-3 hours of sleep... 3 nights sleep 6 hours... 1 night sleep 12 hours... 2 - 3 nights 2 hours of sleep...

and it keeps cycling - I've tried everything from Ambien to Natural treatments...

Ambien works but I get super groggy --- and when I first take it --- it hypes me out for about 2 hours.

So --- I guess I just deal with it.

but a lot of folks have complained about insomnia...

Find things to do that you can manage with Brain Fog --- watch old movies --- comedies - etc.

Much luck to you!

I too had insomnia while txing. Dr. prescribed ambien which helped, tho I still woke up some. My sleep patterns are still not back to normal. I used to do crossword puzzles when I couldn't sleep, that helped some.
All the best to you!!

One of my side effects last time I was on treatment was called hyper fatigue.  I would use an over the counter sleep aid but it did not really help.  I would go to be about 2:30 in the morning and wake up at 4:00 in the morning feeling like a had a full nights rest.  However, my brain did not get the rest it needed.  My doctor talked with a psychiatrist and he said that welbrutrin can do that.  So, I started taking welbrutrin in the morning and trazdone in the evening.  I still did not sleep.  Are you taking antidepressants?  Maybe they are keeping you from sleeping at night.

This just started happening to me, not sure if the rash and itching is waking me up or its insomina.  Last night i was up most of the night and had to work today.  I did try ambien i slept very good for 4 hours and then i was wide awake,  Maybe that will work for you though.

just another battle in the war!

Unfortunately nobody sleeps on treatment even with Ambien. I still don't sleep much 17 months later.  The ribavirin will affect you, the disease itself will affect you, your sides will affect you......................but hopefully all that affecting is killing the virus and that IS the goal.

I used to have to take a nap at lunchtime at work every day because I just could NOT keep my eyes open. sometimes even now it happens and I've NEVER been the type of person to "take a nap".

Ask the doctor for some help, it's very common.

INSONMIA !! it is a bear!!
It does cycle... I'm in my 20th week and last week I had it BAD!!  The ***** about it is if you have to work a full time job!! NO SLEEP AND WORK make for a bitter person....
Ambien doesn't help this hepper!! nothing did when the insomnia hit!! I just wanted to go to the emergency room by the end of the week and take the anesthiologist hostage and have him KNOCK ME OUT!!
but I didn't...and after 7 days of insomnia I finally slept!! but I tell you that will add to your DEPRESSION BIG TIME!!
This treatment is hell when it is bad!! gratefully there are days when it is ok...
Best to all!
