Thanks for sticking with your boyfriend while he is going through this, it helps him so much I assure you.
I experienced swollen abdomen and bulging for the ribs on the right side by the liver. Should be sure he talks or see's the doctor as soon as possible when this happens, it could be a build up of fluids or something else. If the liver is having problems doing it's function, it could lead to high levels of amonia and fluid build up. Also, he should not be afraid to tell the doctor of what he is experiencing, because sometimes if the Pegasys is not doing what it is supposed to do, it can do more harm than good. There are other options like may an adjustment in the dosage or other manufactor's of the medicine. It is a very powerful medicine, so be careful OK.

Yes he has an appointment on Monday he fears telling to much for fear they will take him off the treatment.
That is why I thought I would reach out to others and find out as much inforamtion as possible.
Sorry to hear about your Ex. I just figure if we get thru this we can handle anything life has to throw our way.
Thank You
Hi Helen,
Don't know why noone has responded. I had bouts of vomiting during tx. My md gave me zofran which helped quite alot. So you boyfriend has gone thru 8 months. Thats amazing and its also amazing that you have stayed with him. The girl I was seeing when I started tx bailed out after about 4 wks. I've had that swelling and hard belly its very uncomfortable. Just laying down helped the most. But when you are at work you can't just go lay down. But I don't think its anything serious. His md is following him right?

Some people do get sick from the Pegasys but if he's vomitting too much he needs to get a hold of his doctor to make sure he does not run in to dehydration and electrolyte issues. He also n eeds to have his doc look at his abdoment. It could be anything from gas, to a hernia to his liver.
