My 7 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with
Hep A, and not one doctor has even given me a straight
answer of what it is. They say something and then say
"I think" "I'm not sure".
Meanwhile I'm scared as hell sitting at home watching
my daughter turn yellow and all they can say is she
has to fight this on her own.
Please tell me there is something I can do to help my
Hepatitis A is a self limiting viral illness .It is an acute infection and is usually cured within 4-6 weeks with no permanent liver damage. Hepatitis A causes fever, yellowish discoloration of skin and eyes, loss of appetite, joint pains, abdominal pain, and weakness etc.There is no treatment advised for this condition. She needs rest and her hydration should be maintained. A strict no fat diet is recommended. Avoid oily greasy and fried foods. Do not worry. In case she starts having symptoms like severe vomiting, altered behavior you should seek immediate medical help.
