has anybody suffered from influenza

hey was just wondering if anyone has had influenza as I'm studying about it for my A level course, was wondering if you could fill me in on the treatment for it, and the support you got, for example did you have to visit the doctors, what did they prescribe, did you have to be visited by a district nurse, etc
any information would be extremely useful thanks :D
