Hello and hope you are doing well.

Hepatitis infection is caused by virus. Hepatitis A is transmitted by the feco oral route, means it is transmitted by contamination of food with fecal matter from the infected person. Hepatitis B & C are transmitted by blood, by using the infected persons razors, by needles or sometimes from mother to the baby. However, vaccines are available against Hepatitis A & B.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Hepatitis B can be easily transmitted if an infected person has handled the plates & cutlery at restaurants - this seldom happens. HepC is transmitted blood to blood: hard sex, open wounds, using an infected persons razor or toothbrush can pass this. These are the more obvious methods, surely there are more. Why would someones blood be on your plate anyway? Eating stuff has to go through the digestive process, not much lives by that type of contact. Speak with your doctor, or contact your local health department - I'm sure they can answer your question. I am not a medical professional, and not pretending to be one.
