Hi there,

I am a new member to the forum. I was diagnosed with AIH about 5 weeks ago and I am on 50 mg of azathioprine and 20 mg of prednisone per day. I have found that my joint pain (left ankle) is back all the time and my skin is really bad, especially the rash on my elbows and buttocks.

I am a 36 year old female around 220 lbs (down from 389 lbs after a roux en y gastric bypass in Nov 2007) and I live in New Zealand.

My question I guess - is what symptons are you still getting while on drugs (if any) and what level of meds are you on?

Cheers

Janine

Hi there,

I was diagnosed with AIH and  Lupus 2 years ago. I also take 50mg Azathioprine and 2.5 of Prednisolone. I also take Plaquinel for the Lupus. The steroids took all my joint pain away but was on 40mg to start with. This was slowly reduced to what I'm taking now. I do get flare ups now and again but pain is moderate. Joints tend to swell  especially fingers and wrists.
My AIH effected my liver quite badly at first, but with the meds I'm on, has settled really well. It does take time and you will probably think will I ever get sorted but you will.
Well done with the weight loss.

Take care

Debbie (England)
