no, only hbsag quantity matters, not hbeag or ast/alt

biopsy is not good for monitoring because it has a high sample error and you can t have biopsies frequent (one every 5 years usually), fibroscan is the tool for liver damage monitoring

Thanx for this advice .but one of reasons for no treatment is DAT my HbeAg is -ve ie am not fighting back. and that my ast  alt are within range and we don't do fibroscan here.drs rely on liver biopsy which I leant is not thorough.I know I can not treat my self.so are all these position correct?

treatment is not needed in most cases, it is not the virus to make damage but our own immune systems so those with weakest immune system have no damage

monitor liver by fibroscan and if no damage you can choose if keep monitoring

latest results show that it is good to start tenofovir anyway because after 5 years or more on tenofovir or entecavir peginterferon add on cures most patients.the key to cure is the number of years on antivirals or if earlier than that hbsag less than 1000iu/ml
