ALT becoming lower & lower

APRIL 20, 2011 ALT 204.7
JUNE 24, 2011 ALT 136
JULY 21, 2011 ALT 78.2

if the alt is becoming lower, was that it means? is these co-related with improving condition on HBV
any observation is highly appreciated....

so you mean, even the so called "healthy carrier" has the possibility to have liver damage? or those who are HBVdna below markers?

i'll try to clear the meaning of the main hbv markers:

hbsag, not infective, it is used by virus to suppress immune system and to protect the actual virion from the small quantities antibodies since most of these particles are not assembled on virions but circulate alone
only immune system can lower hbsag so it reflects the strength of immune response/immune suppression too

most of hbsag comes from cccdna, especially on hbeag postives, so it can also reflect the quantity of cccdna indise liver cells and cccdna transcription.

it cant correlate with liver damage of infectvity directly

hbvdna, reflects virus replication but it is not the number of virions and even if undetactable replication goes on anyway  as intrahepatic hbvdna or cccdna.hbvdna reflects liver damage since when it is undetactable there is no liver damage although infection goes on

fibroscan reflects the real liver damage and correlates with liver function.it is very useful when cirrhosis reaches its end stage.the high values of fibroscan correlates with cirrhosis complications and life expectancy although much study is still needed on cirrhosi and high values on fibroscan
i reached the pick of 16.3kpa, i dont remeber the correct values for cirrhosis complication but they started somewhere at 19-20kpa and serious after 25kpa

i hope this can help but if you dont understand it is ok anyway since hbv life cycle is very complicated and very difficult to explain in few easy words

doctors says, im a chronic carrier...but as per your advice to check the HbCab he doesn't but still he said that im a chronic carrier that need medication...i am thinking twice to go on medication that is why i only taking supplement for my liver protection.... the bottom line i am HBV carrier but as the ALT going down i am optimistic that my condition improving without test of hbsag, but of course i'll do that later on...

as a general thing it is good but must be confirmed by a fibroscan reading after 6 months and decreasing hbvdna

the problem is that liver damage is not correlated to alt/ast only but also to hbvdna quantity.good diet and habits can only make good so you are probably improving

as an example heptech products improve liver damage and regress cirrhosis indipendently from alt/ast and hbvdna....so in the end only fibroscan readings every 6 months can tell if your liver damage is decreasing

i only drink supplement and i was on a healthy diet, quit smoking and drinking, the fact that is going lower was it bad or good indication?

the best situation is high alt while decreasing hbsag and hbvdna because this means immune clearance of infected cells while a normal alt with a high hbsag and/or hbvdna means your immune system is failing to clear hbv because it cannot see the virus

is these co-related with improving condition on HBV

no, this is not true 100%, it is improving if:
alt/ast less than 19 for women
hbvdna decreasing
fibroscan decreasing

in any case better normal alt than increased

Do u use any medication?

What is the result test of HBcAb?

If it is positive means u r acute HBV infected and in the way of clear from virus ..
