ANTIBODIES

If someone has both Hep B & C antibodies does that mean that they DO NOT carry the disease ie: they cannot pass it on to someone else?

someone with antibodies for those illnesses need a PCR test to determine if the virus is present in the blood and became chronic. There is no such thing as a hep c carrier. If the virus is present , it can be transmitted, the virus, not the antibodies.

Antibodies show that a person has been exposed but they do not say whether the virus is present. Another test must be done to determine that.
