Adefovir dipivoxil (ADV) experience?

by tn52, Jan 04, 2002 12:00AM
I am infected with HBV precore mutant DNA. I am currently take Epivir (lamivudine). The treatment went well for almost a year but as I reached to the point of clearing the viruses, they are now turn resistant to Epivir (YMDD mutation?). My DNA count shoots up to 700 pg/ml and I am devastated. From my research, Adefovir may be a good next step. Is it been approved by FDA? I know about their reported side effects but any body in this forum actually taking ADV? If so, did anything bother you much? Thanks for any response.
