Instead of focusing on how to disguise the disease, why couldn't they focus on how to eradicate it. In a country of billions of people and HBV being the dominant epidemic, couldn't they invest more time and money into finding a cure.

The secret formula: 48 hours before the physical, take 5 pills of Lamivudine once every 24 hours!

Doctor's comment on the formula:  it would make you really sick, possible kill you!

Boy!  There really are immoral people who would not mind killing you for their "heavy wallet."

It's marketing of false hope.  It's nothing new.  Like miracle diet pills and ab machines that would do the work for you, where you could just sit on the sofa, watch tv and eat cheese dips.  Sad....

Has anyone heard of or tried another exotic treatment, namely, phyllantus amarus made into a tea; and administered 1-3 ml/daily?  This is used as part of an Ayurvedic treatment and proclaimed to be quite successful.  Additionally, what about milk thistle as a dietary supplement?

Have you tried them?  Results?  If you have, please share so that as a group, there are fewer people getting cheated, but if they work, we would know too.

I am taking milk thistle but cannot report any results.  I haven't been taking it long enough.  Milk thistle has not been tested for long term safety.  I think 5 years is about the upper end.  That said, it does not appear that it would have a detremental  effect and I am taking it against the advice of my physician.

Be careful of herbal remedies and remember that everything that goes into your body will pass through the liver.  That said,  our resident Hepatitis Researcher did suggest that milk thistle could be helpful in slowing progression of fibrosis.

Make sure your physician is aware of any supplements you may choose to take.  Also remember that none of these are a cure but are only taken in hopes of slowing progression of fibrosis or for general liver protection.

i wouldn't totally say no to herbs but use them with caution, better yet with a practioner someone who knows what they are doing..b/c it can be deadly if you just use things on your own without proper knowledge.  I think natural remedies do and can help..i do'nt know about curing but they can help sometimes we rely too much on conventional meds and they just cause more problems/side effects for us.  It is good to heal one's body if u can the naturally That's just my 2 cents.
