Allergy Shots and Inflammation

by silverbug, Jun 10, 2002 12:00AM
Greetings:

I have chronic HBV.  I have had this from birth.  My father, his sister (my aunt) and his brother (my uncle have all succumbed to liver cancer and have passed on.  I am taking annual allergy shots.  The serum is called Allumex for tree poleen and Pollenex for grass pollen.  Can these shots inflame the liver?  I am curious because for the last 2 years I have been taking these shots and my AST/AZT levels doubled last year and tripled this year.  My levels were around 30 (don't recall the units) for the last few years until 2000 and last year they were 70 and now they are 119.  I am starting to get the beginning stages of cirrhosis now.  I am getting very worried.  Can someone offer any thoughts?
