Anti-HBc test

by miyukikym, Jan 09, 2002 12:00AM
I recently donated blood and received a letter stating that most of the tests on my blood came out negative but the test for Anti-HBc came out negative.

What does this mean?  I used to date someone last year who came down with Hepatitis B.. I had tests done to see if I had it or if I gave it to him but they came out negative.  So, why is this test telling me that I am negative.

The letter also stated that if I gave blood again and the test came out negative again that I would be put on a list of deferred donors.  Does this mean that I would be "black-balled" for giving blood?
