from what i read it "helps" in boosting the immune system and regeneration(?) of liver cells, but curing it is another.
many of those who are "advertizing" it simply has acute HBV and of course 95% of the time the body will clear it, so when the body clears and and they were using this they will think that it's because of this that they cleared HBV which is simply not the case.
this is also the reason this is a a booming business in the Philippines :)
