Any Reason Whatsoever to be on Adefovir Dipivoxil (Hepsera) These Days?

Should anyone be undergoing antiviral therapy with Adefovir Dipivoxil (Hepsera)?  This relative of mine is originally from an Asian country.  She says it's very common to be a HBV carrier in her country.  She knew when she was around 35; her children have HBV also.  Her son is also on Hepsera (he's on Medicaid).  

I'm told he's tried different medication and his doctor settled on Adefovir.  Is there any reason whatsoever for this to be the case?  Is Adefovir/Hepsera perhaps more appropriate for certain patient groups (Asians)?  Both have been on Hepsera for 1.5-2.5 years.

Shouldn't resistance be the primary concern in an antiviral therapy, not convenience, sideeffect tolerance, ease of drug delivery, etc.

yes cover drug maker money expenses because adv was a failed hiv drug.another purpose is to make hbsag escape mutants so hbv spread more even to vaccineted people, more money coming

tenofovir has only an atom difference from adv and this makes less toxicity and a higher dosage can be used making drug work.the failure is due to the toxicity not allowing a dose which works on hiv and hbv properly.any doctor using it should be sued since guideline allow use of entecavir, tenofovir and interferon only

they are doing the same thing with another drug who is about to be approved for hiv and failed hiv, don t remember the name now

from what drug company tenofovir belongs?
as of this time no tenofovir is available in our country.

tenofovir is the oldest drug among hbv drug since we share the same drugs as hiv, it is the most potent and generics are on the market.
brand tenofovir and hespera are made by the same drug maker gilead, name of tenofovir viread

the generics are tenvir from cipla and tavin from emcure, since there is a lot of competition in asia viread is sold at 7 usd per month in some poor countries, probably to steel market to the generics
