Are protein shakes OK with some one with hepatitis B

Hi,

I am fit and heathly Hep B Man 30s.

I am doing a lot of sports at the moment and I was wondering if protein shakes (like maxinutrition) OK with some one with hepatitis B?

Also taking Tenofovir Viread every day.

I read somewhere that its good for Hep B people.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Update...

My Doctor says taking protein shakes is fine if it pure protein.

So read the ingredients in the protein shakes, make sure that nothing that can effect your medication. i.e. like creatine etc.

Thanks,

I'm going to ask my doctor (in May) about taking protein shakes with Tenofovir Viread just for being on the safe side.

I will let you know.

Well....I have Hep B... I didn't know I had it.. It was just a general health check up. I had no symptoms.

Obviously good that I found out and the Doctors I had were very good.

I have always been sporty so keeping fit was easy... I changed my diet to be loads more healthy and I feel great, happy and postive.

You can change the past, but you can change you future!. live life to the full!

Do you have Hep B?

May I ask what your conditions or symptoms were prior to starting Viread?

I've been meaning to ask similar questions about protein shakes and sports in general. Thanks for asking those questions.

Thanks for the info about the protein shakes.

I have been on Viread for 3 years ish. No issues at all.

Take one pill at day with or just after food.

Liver and blood tests all good.

I don't drink, eat heathly, do loads of sport... to be honest I never felt sooooo good.

I haven't read anything about protein shakes being bad and you should avoid them.

How are you doing with Viread? How long have you been on it? Any issues with it?
