Ha ha ha I asked the same q 7yrs bak to one gi doctor and he smiled. This q is just a product of depression. Unluckily one girl I know died of hepatitis in just 1.5years that turned autoimmune after clearing acute hbv.
Thank for your positive comment. Appreciate it.
Ram,
My grandmother lived till 73 with no medication. My mother is currently 65 and my 2 uncles are 63 and 61. I would say they are in better health than me, it is all about life style and keeping your immune system up. A lot of members here follow stef2011 advises on life style regarding to bmi, supplements and foods to eat. It would be a good idea to reread some of the post from him.
Ram, please do not worry about your life expectancy. You could walk out on the street tomorrow and be hit by a bus! But I will quote my old GI doctor "I've seen some people live up to late 70s with this disease and the disease is not what kills them, it's usually something else".
And my favorite from him was "I've never put a patient in the grave because of Hepatitis B and I never plan to do so either!"
Relax, take it easy. Just because you have this, does not mean you will only live 5 or 10 or 20 more years!
